Today, President Obama met the Dalai Lama at the White House, a move that was predictably condemned by the Chinese government. Considering the recent rise in Sino-American tensions over trade disputes, Iran, google and the arms sale to Taiwan, was this a shrewd move?

Question: Should Obama have met the Dalai Lama in this current context of Sino-American disputes?
